MACAWS
There are Thirty species of Macaws that range in the wild from Mexico south to Brazil. All Macaws have common
characteristics: large beaks, long tails and bare facial areas. They are very hardy and long lived. Some are the largest and
gaudiest of the parrot family. Macaws are free breeders and available and quite reasonably priced. Despite their large size
and powerful beaks they are very docile and friendly when hand-raised from babies. It has been our experience that Macaws
make fair talkers and are friendly and very playful. There are many species of Macaws being raised in captivity and available
as babies, These include Blue and Golds, Scarlets, Greenwings, Yellow collars, Hahns, Military.

AFRICAN GREYSThe African Grey parrot is one of the best known pet birds in America. This bird competes for the title of best talking bird that
you can buy. It rivals the Double Yellow Head, Panama and Yellow Nape Amazons for the "Best Talker". These birds are
free breeders and have become one of the most popular and are reasonably priced. African Greys are lovely birds and
present a wonderful contrast to the ever present green of the popular Amazon parrots. The color combination is Black with
gray and red. The tail of the Grey is a brilliant color that provides for the striking contrast. We should include the Temneh
parrot with the African Grey because the are so closely related. This bird is an inch shorter than it relative and has a reddish
brown tail. |
